Recent archaeological evidence supports the theory that women fought along side men in Viking  raiding parties.  this bust depict such a Shield Maiden, armed with a sword and the typical round shield she is wearing leather armour which laces her as somebody of reasonably high status. Over her shoulders she has a wolf skin – worn for both warmth and to demonstrate her status.

Over her shoulders she has a wolf skin – worn for both warmth and to demonstrate her status.

The kit has six parts:  torso, shield, two arms, a pedestal base and a length of foil to make the shield  strap.
