003 - ECW - Officer of the King's Lifeguard of Foot - 1643
Inspired by an Angus McBride illustration in Soldiers of the English Civil War (1) by Osprey this bust is of an officer of the King's Lifeguard of Foot, although it could represent an officer of any regiment because it was normal for officers to wear their own civilian clothes, the only item distinguishing them as an officer being the sash.
The usual practice was to wear a sash in their general's colours, in this case a red sash of his King's service.
A list of regimental colours is under the 'useful stuff' tab, or click here.
The bust consists of 3 parts: torso with head, hat and pedestal.
